Technical Writer - Scientific Communications

We are seeking a Technical Writer who will create and edit strategic marketing content including written documents, webpages, and social media posts, technical marketing, educational materials, and Email marketing. They will also write/edit content for promotional materials - testimonials, case studies, technical blogs, for marketing collateral (brochures, banners, etc.) and other items (newsletters, blogs, press releases). They will be an active contributor to cross-brand marketing initiatives by assisting in the development and execution of strategic digital marketing content for marketing campaigns related to all global brands. These brands include Aurora Scientific, Lafayette Instrument, Campden Instruments, ALZET, Sutter Instrument and Actimetrics. This person will work with the Global Marketing Manager to build brand awareness, generate leads and help achieve our growth targets. This position is a full-time, hybrid role that would be based in our Aurora Scientific office location. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m., but is flexible based on need. Duties

  • Remain current on research trends, market activity and competitor products
  • Discuss strategies and effectiveness with the Global Marketing Manager and in sales team meetings
  • Provide input on the development of standard marketing tools with the Global Marketing Manager
  • Aid in the development and execution of search engine and ad optimization for all markets to gain further awareness and acceptance of our products and services
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings, prepared to discuss objectives, accomplishments, barriers, ideas for content improvement or any other ideas that would enhance the functioning of the position, and to present feedback from the field.
  • Regularly communicate marketing activities and advancements relative to target to the Global Marketing Manager so they can be discussed with a view to improvement and so that the data can be compiled for weekly dashboard presentation
  • Contribute to the development of cross-brand marketing initiatives as defined by the Global Marketing Manager
  • Participate in online/video productions by selecting and vetting client partners, assisting in content development and assuming the role of host or narrator, as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in a life science discipline, engineering or related field of study
  • A demonstrated history of success and high achievement in previous endeavours
  • Experience working in a research lab is an asset
  • Basic graphic design abilities is an asset (i.e. Canva)Proven track record of product knowledge, market flows, industry players
  • Experience with academic/research funding is an asset
  • A demonstrated capacity and interest in learning, understanding and building skill sets

Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator will support the execution of marketing initiatives across our global brands, contributing to lead generation, brand awareness, and digital campaign performance. They will assist or lead in the creation, coordination, and deployment of marketing content across multiple channels, including scientific events, digital platforms, and cross-brand campaigns. They will collaborate closely with the Global Marketing Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging, effective communication, and alignment with organizational growth objectives. This position is a full-time, remote role based out of our Aurora Scientific office location. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with up to 10% travel based on need. Responsibilities

  • Support company participation in digital events such as webinars, virtual demos and video interviews

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in overseeing accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. The main function of the Senior Accountant is to gather, prepare, verify, and consolidate monthly financial statement packages. The Senior Accountant is responsible for accuracy and communication of two subsidiary company financial statements along with the preparation of consolidated financial reporting packages. The responsibilities of the Senior Accountant for the two subsidiaries will include site-specific Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cash Management, and other processes as necessary. In addition, the Senior Accountant will review cost accounting across the company and be the primary point person on the global consolidation and adherence to US generally accepted accounting principles.

The job is based in Lafayette, IN. This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but is flexible based on need. Travel of 10-15% could be required for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide daily accounting for entities in the UK and in California. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, the monthly close process, and ensuring proper accounting for manufacturing transactions, including inventory, cost of goods sold, fixed assets, and variances.
  • Preparation and accuracy of global consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Review and analyze financial statements from other subsidiaries to complete the global consolidation.
  • Consolidate and build financial plans for the organization, including collecting and tracking headcount, operating and capital expenses.
  • Be the bridge for our Global finance leadership team, interacting and supporting our subsidiary finance management staff.
  • Provide additional support and cross-train with other finance positions to develop adequate back-up when necessary.
  • Validate and analyze subsidiary financial statements, General Ledger accounts and ad-hoc reports.
  • Further develop and maintain Global Accounting Policies and Standard Operating procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, maintain internal controls, and compliance with relevant legal regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and implement solutions to any relevant audit findings.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for packaging, logistics and manufacturing to support strategic business decisions.
  • Conduct variance analysis to forecast, track KPIs, and identify opportunities for improvement. Prepare and present insightful KPI analysis to support global leadership in decision-making
  • Spearheads the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Implement and/or develop financial models, standardization and reporting automation to drive business decisions and continuous improvement to finance tasks.
  • Analyze current processes and structures to provide recommendations for continuous improvement and efficiency. Develop processes to enable an efficient completion of routine monthly and quarterly deliverables.
  • Prepare narratives, graphs, and other financial analysis.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes)Required Education/Licenses/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • MBA preferred; not required
  • CPA and/or CMA desired

  • Minimum three to five years’ finance or accounting business experience

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Experience working with ERP systems

  • Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment showing gradual responsibility progression
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights, Tableau, Power Query, Power BI, and/or SQL a plus
  • Willingness and ability to reset priorities if business circumstances require
